Shielded Care was founded on a simple but powerful belief: care should feel safe, respectful, and deeply human.

My journey into home care didn’t begin in an office or a policy manual — it began at home, caring for my own mother. Supporting someone you love comes with challenges that aren’t always visible: balancing safety with dignity, managing appointments and daily needs, navigating exhaustion, and carrying the emotional weight that comes with wanting to do everything right for someone who depends on you. That experience changed how I see care.

I learned firsthand how overwhelming it can be for families, how hard caregivers work behind the scenes, and how critical it is to have structure, trust, and clear communication in place. Shielded Care was created to reflect those lessons — to support families not just with services, but with peace of mind.

Shielded Care was built from lived experience and professional dedication. What started as caring for my own family grew into a commitment to serve others with the same level of attention, patience, and respect.

As I navigated California’s home care system, I saw where families were left confused, caregivers were unsupported, and compliance was treated as a burden instead of a safeguard. I chose a different path — building an agency that is licensed, insured, bonded, and fully compliant with the Home Care Services Bureau (HCSB), while still remaining warm, empathetic, and person-centered.
